KLN Specialty Insurance LLC to distribute new Medical Malpractice Program

Monday, November 22, 2004: KLN Specialty Insurance Agency (KLN) has announced that the company has partnered with a medical malpractice insurance carrier to implement an insurance program which incorporates risk management into the ongoing malpractice insurance protection. Darwin Professional Underwriters, an “A (Excellent)” rated specialty lines insurer with expertise in medical professional liability insurance, has agreed to offer coverage to certain physicians and physician groups in Connecticut at competitive rates. Coverage is offered in conjunction with KLN’s integrated risk management programs. Darwin is currently accepting submissions for medical professional liability coverage with policy effective dates starting January 1st 2005.

“We expect that this unique insurance program will have a significant impact on insurance costs for many physician groups. The insurance programs objectives are simple:
1. reduce malpractice exposures;
2. assist physicians in proactively addressing malpractice premiums; and
